Question of the Day

(paw-talk.com)

Yesterday, from the back seat and from out of the blue:

Mbot: “Mom, what happens when a rat gets too comfortable?”

If anyone has the answer, I’d be delighted to hear it.

  1. For some reason it just makes me think of those DirectTV commercials…. Don’t let a rat get too comfortable, when a rat gets too comfortable he invites all his relatives to live in your wall, when all his relatives live in your wall it starts to smell, when it starts to smell then mommy gets irritated, when mommy gets irritated you only get kale and bean paste for dinner, when you only get kale and bean paste for dinner you go to bed hungry – you don’t want to go to bed hungry, so don’t let a rat get too comfortable!

  2. I had a hamster as a child and when I thought he looked too comfortable, he was actually dead. 😦 I would stick with one of the other answers above.

    • As the long-ago owner of several gerbils and a hamster, all of whom at one point or another looked too comfortable, I am truly sorry for the loss of your loved one. I hope enough time has passed that you don’t unfollow me when I say that your comment made me spew my iced tea. Thanks for the wise advice–I will go with an alternative answer.

      • I love it when I make someone spew anything (hmmm, too dirty, no sexual innuendo intended). But anyway Fuzzhead’s passing was about 23 years ago, so yeah, I think I’m over it.

  3. I sadly do not have an answer to that question but I just wanted to say I love your ratty, it looks just like our little Luna.

    • Isn’t this little fellow cute? Sadly, he’s not ours–it was just an adorable picture I found in a Google “comfortable rat” search. I’m sure the bots will insist on wee new addition to the family in a few years (but not another bot!), and I’ve got a soft spot, so we’ll no doubt end up with a comfortable rodent of our own. I’ve known them and liked them. And love the name of yours!
